The Q5 and Q7 Max Series both scored very well in our tests of floors with no carpet They are also adept at cleaning hair from dogs. However, they have several flaws that prevent them from being our top pick. One of the flaws of the Q5 is its navigation system does not feature AI-powered obstacles avoidance. It's also prone to get stuck on socks and shoes and could not navigate through rooms with a lot of people well during our tests. It also doesn't have cameras that let it see the corners of the room.
It's still a great option to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on an Roomba from iRobot, and you have a mostly unfinished home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and can work when you're at work or school. It doesn't have the edge-to-edge floor vacuuming that is offered by the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It even cleans the floor after it vacuums, a feature that we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.
3. iRobot Roomba X40
With a sleek, circular design that looks more like a normal Roomba rather than the compact models, this robot vacuum and mop combo is among the most attractive designs in our reviews. The latest model from iRobot is also its smartest. It features advanced features such as Enhanced Dirt Detection as well as future compatibility (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads on its own).
It's the only robotic mop or vacuum that scored a perfect 10 in our testing, thanks to a combination of high-tech sensors that include cameras, a structured lighting system, and multiple lasers. It's also quite expensive but not as much as the Ecovacs S8 MaxV Ultra or the Roborock S8 Omni, which are equally impressive and attractive. If you're willing to live with a bit more noise and some additional cost this is a efficient two-in-one device that should please almost everyone.
4. iRobot Roomba L20 Ultra
The L20 Ultra is the top-of-the best robot vacuum and mop. It has a range of features that are advanced and will help you forget your chores. The L20 Ultra is a hands-free cleaning device like Ecovacs' top-of-the-range X2 Omni or Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra. It has a multifunction dock which automatically emptys the vacuum's bin and refills the water tank, as well as washes and dries mop pads.

The RX3 is a smarter cleaner than you'd expect from its price tag. It vacuums well and picked up 55% debris in our tests. (It was second to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with a single pad that uses a reciprocating motion that cleans better than most of the other mop cleaners for robots we've examined. It's also self-sufficient, with a full-featured app and an auto-emptying washable base.
The iRobot application is designed to guide you through a mapping run, which gathers information on your floorplan, as well as any "no go" areas that you have marked on the map. It can be used to design cleaning schedules or organize an automatic spot-clean. It can also be used to it to rank your most filthy areas for better performance.
